Finding a real estate agent is tough when the advertising tells so little about them. How do you know if they’ll be a good fit for your needs? What qualifications do they have? Will they be able to show you the types of homes you’re looking for? Finding real estate agents near me used to be a difficult struggle that resulted in it taking years to sell my home. I’ve learned a lot along the way, and I am here to share some of the tips that helped me find the perfect real estate agent.
Find out how experienced they are. Do they have any credentials that make the worthwhile? Some of these include the CRS, the ABR, and the SRES. All of these are indicators of the amount of additional training a real estate agent has gone through during their career. Also note that if they are a Realtor (with a capital ‘R’) they are a member of the National Association of Realtors, or NAR.
Look at the current listings an agent is offering. You can easily find them online in places like the agency website or sites like realtor.com. People often start their search for properties or a new home online, so previous homes sold should be readily accessible. Do they mirror the property you would ideally want to purchase or sell? Do they have enough listings to add credibility, or do they have too many?
Look for any red flags. Red flags include things like disciplinary actions or complaints filed against the agent. Check to make sure their license is up-to-date, so you do not end up purchasing a home from an unlicensed individual. Do thorough research into the realtor you are considering.
Find a trusted realtor by checking their credentials, looking at their current listings, and watching for any indicators of issues that may present a problem in the future.
